STEKA is manufactured by Yamada Casting & Ironworks Co., Ltd. in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture.
Founded in 1918 with the manufacture and sale of internal combustion engines for agriculture and marine use as its core business, the company began aluminum alloy casting in 1982. Its casting machines are developed in-house. Drawing on rich experience and dependable products, the company makes selective use of ten casting machines in total, responding flexibly to its customers' needs.
In product development, it is not uncommon for manufacturing challenges to force changes to a design. Yamada Casting & Ironworks, with its high level of technical skill and creativity, resolved these manufacturing challenges while prioritizing STEKA's design to the very limit.
Nothing was repurposed from existing products. From mold making to casting to CNC machining, STEKA was built from the ground up together with Yamada Casting & Ironworks.
It is manufactured with a level of care that goes beyond the conventional norms of cookware.
Each piece is carefully crafted, one by one, by artisans at a Japanese aluminum casting foundry with nearly a century of history.
Drawing on experience and skill built up over many years, they determine the optimal casting temperature and pouring method for the aluminum according to the climate and temperature of each day.
No compromise is made in the polishing process, nor in the manufacture of the screws and components. Every part is made at a foundry whose expertise ranks among the finest in Japan.
Precisely because these are tools that come into contact with food, we want to deliver something born of honest handwork and craftsmanship. That is what we believe.
